Know where AI will make a practical difference in your business.
AI discovery for established small and medium-sized businesses.
Repetitive administration is taking time from customers. Information sits across inboxes and documents. Your team is trying AI tools, but you need to know which changes will improve the work and justify the cost.
We review the workflows behind those problems and assess where AI is worth testing. You leave with written recommendations and a prioritised 90-day plan your team can act on.
Make the next AI decision with a clear business case
At the end of discovery, you can decide which AI use cases to pilot, which tools to evaluate and what to defer. You will have a prioritised opportunity shortlist, the assumptions to test and clear first actions.
We start with the work your people already do and any tools or experiments you have already tried. That gives us a useful starting point without repeating work you have already completed.
The recommendation may be to pilot AI, improve the existing process first or leave a task alone. We weigh likely benefit against tool costs, integration effort, staff capacity and the level of human review required.
What you receive
A written workflow and opportunity review identifying where time is lost, information is hard to find or work is repeatedly recreated, using the examples and evidence agreed for discovery.
A prioritised shortlist of AI use cases, assessed against likely value, delivery effort, data needs and practical risks. Any estimated benefits are clearly labelled as estimates.
Tool and integration recommendations: whether ChatGPT, Claude, your existing software or a different approach deserves a closer look, with dependencies and questions to resolve.
A proportionate adoption and governance outline covering who owns the work, what information can be used, where human review belongs and what training may be needed.
A written 90-day action plan with proposed owners, first pilot steps, dependencies, success measures and decision points. We review it with your leadership team so responsibilities and the next investment decision are clear.
How AI discovery works
1. Agree the decision and scope. We identify the business question, people involved, workflows to review, available evidence, outputs and fixed fee before starting.
2. Review the real work. Focused conversations and representative examples help us assess where AI could help. Where appropriate and agreed, we compare tools against selected tasks using suitable, approved data.
3. Prioritise the options. We assess likely value, recurring costs, delivery effort and readiness. Each shortlisted option has assumptions to test and a decision on whether to pilot it, defer it or improve the underlying process first.
4. Review the plan together. You leave knowing what to try first, who should own it and what evidence will justify the next investment.
Who this is for
Owners and leadership teams in established businesses who want a practical route into AI, or a clearer direction for experiments already underway.
Teams dealing with repeated customer follow-up, manual reporting, duplicated administration or difficulty finding reliable internal information, and weighing up whether AI could help.
Businesses able to involve a decision-maker and relevant staff, share representative workflow examples and nominate someone to own the next steps.
If your main need is already a clearly specified build or an urgent repair to an existing automation, a scoped implementation project may be a better starting point. We establish that in the initial conversation.
Business operations experience behind the recommendations
I am Antony Draper. My background includes sales, operations and delivery across HP, Capita and the public sector, alongside advisory work with founder-led businesses.
That experience connects the AI decision to sales, delivery, cash and accountability: will the change improve a useful business measure, can the team support it and who owns the result?
You work directly with me. Technical implementation or specialist security, legal and compliance review can be scoped separately where needed.
Scope, fee and what happens next
Discovery is a paid, scoped engagement. Following an initial conversation, I confirm the workflows, stakeholder involvement, deliverables, timetable, fixed fee, any applicable VAT and payment terms in writing before you commit.
The number of interviews, depth of testing and review time are agreed within that scope. Additional work requires a separate agreement.
The discovery stands on its own. You receive the written recommendations and 90-day plan, reviewed together, and can take them forward with your own team or a chosen delivery partner. There is no obligation to buy implementation support.
If you want further support, we agree the build, integration or rollout scope, responsibilities and fee separately. Software licences and production implementation are outside the discovery fee.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to know which AI tool we want? No. The starting point is the business task. Comparing ChatGPT, Claude or other tools is useful only when we understand what they need to do.
Can you review tools we already use? Yes. We start with your current systems, workflows and existing experiments, then agree which areas warrant further investigation.
Will you build the automations? This engagement covers discovery and recommendations. Any build, integration or rollout has its own agreed scope and fee.
What about confidential information? We agree what evidence is needed and how it can be shared before the review. Use anonymised or redacted examples wherever possible. Production access and uploading confidential information to AI tools are not assumed.
Can we work remotely? Yes. Discovery can be delivered remotely for UK businesses. If an on-site visit would add value, its location, time and expenses are agreed in advance.
How long does it take? The timetable depends on the agreed scope and stakeholder availability. We confirm the delivery dates before you commit.
What if AI is not the right answer? The review can recommend a process change, better use of existing software or deferring investment. The aim is a sound business decision, and the plan records the reasoning.
Start with the problem you want AI to solve
Tell me about your business, one workflow that takes too much time and what you have already tried. I will reply personally so we can establish whether discovery is the right next step.
